Hi Roy, >>>>> George left Fidonet years ago. >>>> Yes, he did. He and I are still in contact often however. >>> I made that deduction, knowing that he'd left. How is the old duff? >> He's doing well, I guess he and his company were taking off for >> ISPCON (guess that's the next step after BBSCON ) > Accept that ISP is what he does for a living. :o) Glad to hear that he's a > success.. Yep.. His company took off right away from what I remember...what's funny to me is we discovered he worked closely with a company that we'd dealt with way way back before the internet became so free and easy .. back then, you could only send an ISP a list of files or info you wanted (and it wasn't cheap) and then the next day or whatever you could download the stuff.. and if you tried to "access" some systems during BUSINESS hours and tied things up you'd might be blacklisted. It was a whole different world then.. Take care, Janis --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
