I am a regular user of "Instant Oatmeal" My typical usage/method is four
of the packets of dry product in a large latte cup. Then I nuke (microwave)
a 6 fl oz pitcher of liquid (milk or water) for two minutes - to just
under boiling - and stir it into the dry oatmeal. Then add four or more
pats of butter (about 1 teaspoon each) to the mix and stir. If the mixture
seems too thick/gluey add a bit more liquid before putting it back in the
microwave for 45 to 60 seconds.
My favourites are Raisins, Dates & Walnut, Peaches & Cream, Cranberry with
Flaxseed, and Apple Cinnamon.
It makes for a substantial breakfast or an nice supper. Oh, I use whole
(full fat) milk rather than 2%. Haven't tried Half & Half yet.
If you feel like giving the "real" (non-instant) deal a go - here's a
recipe/method that has worked for me:
