Kevin,
sio2k is indeed different than prior SIO drivers.
I use it, and FaxWorks on an mcp2 system configged over a year ago.
Perhaps something in the following will be useful to you.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
from config.sys:
REM *** Ray Gwinn's SIO2k drivers ***
device=U:\sio2k\uart.sys logfile=U:\sio2k\sio2k.log
device=U:\sio2k\vsio2k.sys logfile=U:\sio2k\vsio2k.log vIrqList(1=4,2=4,3)
device=U:\sio2k\sio2k.sys logfile=U:\sio2k\sio2k.log
rem *** sio2k.sys must be the last line of the SIO2k set ***
===later/further in config.sys: ===
Device=F:\FAXWORKS\Fmd.sys
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
com1 is used for traditional serial I/O devices
com2 is internal pci modem for InJoy
FaxWorks Version 3.2h.Ena uses external modem
Send/Receive FMD4 (I/O 2E8, IRQ 3)
I may have made adjustments in Award BIOS, but have no certainty of that.
[disabled com3 ?]
mode com3
SYS0021: The drive is not ready.
````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
