subject: computer upgrade

I rang up Acuma today, and they don't have the motherboard or
the RAM in stock yet. Actually, on the RAM front I did get a
cryptic message about they have to shift their current stock
before they can get the new RAM in. Which is strange because
I thought they didn't have any RAM in. However, they said their
supplier does have the RAM in. They reckoned it would take a
week to shift their current stock. Anyway, I'm off to buy
that Computer Market magazine, to see if I can shop elsewhere.
BFN. Paul.

P.S. On the way back, I found another Yum Cha, and it had 60ns
72 pin simms for $270, so I may use them.

P.P.S. I rang up Acuma again, and they will be ordering 72pin
simms on Monday, because they sold out the ram today. Perhaps
I confused them or something, specifying 60ns. On Monday I
will find out if Acuma will be getting 60ns RAM.

P.P.P.S. Bloody hell, I thought Yum Cha was the same all over
Sydney. You wouldn't believe the range of prices I have got.
As high as $495 for 70 nsec. The lowest I got from someone was
$255, from Todaytech. The lowest EDO I got was $363. Looks
like Acuma isn't just a Yum Cha shop, it's King of Yum Cha.

BTW, one of the shops in Computer Market was saying that EDO was
33% faster. They were probably comparing it to 70ns RAM, making
it 15% faster than 60ns.
