Not all new trunking systems are digital, and digital isn't that new,
having been available for several years at least. But the few agencies
that have tried it aren't impressed, and several that I've heard of have
gone back to analog for most stuff, using the digital for secure stuff
only. Range and clarity are both far less in current digital systems,
and that's probably not going to improve soon.
