I've seen CD players for cars that can be installed with an RF modulator.
This means they are able to transmit FM to an existing FM stereo radio.
Are these generally installed inline between the vehicle antenna and
the head unit, or do they just broadcast?
I don't have any experience with these. Can anyone tell me if this is a
worthwhile way to install a CD changer in the car? The idea is appealing,
because it appears that the unit could be installed as a transportable
between 2 or more vehicles.
I realize that the dynamic range of CD is much greater than FM, and that
this isn't the best way to go. However, I'm satisfied with the FM sound
in the vehicle. If the CD sound would equal the existing FM sound, I'd
also be satisfied with that.
Any opinions?
