| subject: | Workstation name from C++ |
MS> My product is running on several computers on network. I need to reach MS> from C++ source (Watcom) name of workstation. Workstation will be MS> or OS/2 Lan Requester or OS/2 Peer. I will use this name for unique MS> named pipe name. One of the great things about named pipes is you don't HAVE to have a uniqe name -- your Server can serve a distinct named pipe to each workstation using the same name. This is called a "multiple instance" pipe. If you are still confused let me know, I have a sample program kicking around somewhere. To answer your immediate question...do you get the devcon cdroms? The lan cdroms have the lan programmer's toolkit. The API you are looking for is (last I looked, when I was using 16bit OS/2) is called NetWkstaGetInfo(), with an info level=10. --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
