Hello mark!

01 Dec 02 14:58, you wrote to me:

Abso-frickin-lutely...

A proper implementation is this:

 cd\argus\squish
a. sq386 in link
b. sq386n out
c. sqafixw scan
 cd\argus\ot
d. ot
 cd\argus\squish
e. sq386n squash

A.

Incoming mail is tossed to the appropriate areas, if netmail, it goes to my
dear and beloved cherished *.msg area. Appropriate linking of new messages
is done on this pass as well.

B.

Message base is scanned, PKT's of "echomail" based on what was
imported from A are created for links.

C.

I run SQAFIX (area mgr) on *.MSG netmail folder, it of course reacts if
anything there for it.

D.

I then "sic" O/T on it..

E.

This command tells SQUISH to pack all echomail and NETMAIL up and send it
on its way in the appropriate file in my blackhole mailer.

Technically I dont have to run C, because I dont run ALLFIX's area mgr in
this pass either, if I didnt, instead the *.MSG would simply wait in the
*.MSG folder until I did run it, but because I am more likely to receive
echo fix requests more often than file fix ones, I turn the echo ones
around, nearly instantly. For instance, I use your POSTIT util to auto send
some things in netmail, here is how I would run it..

postit
cd\argus\squish
sq386n squash

I know I have sent you netmail from my 1:123/456 address, look at the {at}via
lines sometime.. :)

Improperly run, they would do as you fear, for instance running SQUISH in
ONE PASS mode:

sq386n in out squash

GECHO has to be run in a similiar fashion, to allow O/T Track to do its
thing with a BSO and thats simple as well..

gecho toss import
ot
gecho scan pack

This isnt a weakness with a BSO, rather how people want to use the programs with it.

Those running a BSO with their tossers in "one pass mode"
shouldnt complain when O/T wont do what its supposed to, those who drive
cars shouldnt complain when their cars stall when driven into a body of
water either.. Context here is correct usage..

I dont have a problem with arcmail attach mailers, I registered Frontdoor,
first 2.11 then the 2.33 version. Argus was a better fit for me for my IP
needs. If it wasnt for Argus, I would have had to use Internet Rex with
Frontdoor and maintaining 2 separate route files wasnt for me.

If you must rail against a outbound style, go look after Platinum Express or D'Broke.

:-)

RC>> I can do the PING thing accurately with my setup.

ml> and the trace function works, too?

I havent finished setting it up yet, but it will as I have shown you in my
setup above.
