Your input is greatly appreciated! Thanks kindly. :)
A friend of mine who works at Canadair (the company holds the
maintenance contract for the CF-18) in their experimental
division & I have built a mobile contraption (there's no better
way to label it ) in order to add air-to-air comms to my
video shoot of the Blue Angels performance. The rig includes
a Radio Scrap Pro-2005 Base Scanner on a small baggage cart,
you know one of those thin little jobbies you can put a sui-
case or two on, a mag-mount antenna & a 12-V Canadian Tire
lead-acid snowmobile & lawn-tractor battery with plenty of
juice to spare.
We will run the S-VHS camera & the scanner form the battery
& feed, via a small three channel passive mixer, the audio
from the scanner to the camera. The ambient sounds & the
aircraft engine audio will be fed to the camera via an
external uni-directional mic in order to cut down on crowd
noise. I will be able to monitor separately the audio feeds
& mix in the aircraft comms as I see fit. Should be
interesting.
I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out. We just
hope at this point that ol' Mother Nature cooperates & gives
us a couple of dry & warm days with some nice cloud formations
which are really HIGH.
Thanks again & great scanning to you all.
Best Regards,

... If it's not broke, let me take a crack at it.
