Yes it could or it could be a configuration error.  But to check 
for virus you'll have to down your BBS.  You will need a write 
protected DOS boot disk, and a anti-virus program, F-prot will fit 
on a 1.4 meg disk with out the help files.  Your boot disk should 
have been scan for virus but not on your computers.  Power down 
(turn off using the power switch) the BBS and after a wait of 
about 30 sec boot from the dos floppy and scan the BBS hard drive 
for virus, DO NOT run any programs from the BBS hard drive until 
AFTER scaning it.  Delete and Replace any infected files is the 
frist choose, 2nd choose is to have the anti-virus program 
disinfect the file but if it is a overing virus the file is not 
recoverable.  Good Luck.
