Using a 32 bit compiler like Delphi 2 or 3 will definitively solve
your problem wich comes from serious memory limitations from the Windows
3.x memory model (16 bits programs suffer this problem even on
windows 95 or Windows NT).
I had many similar problems with Delphi 1. All are gone with Delphi 2.
32 bits application has virtually illimited memory at disposal (be
aware of swapping if you have not enough physical memory).
