 Still having the occasional non-connect. And I have enable LAP-M 
 only with no compression. I'm really at a loss where to go from 
 here. I know it's not the modem, because it worked OK at another 
 suburb, and a different PC brought home, with the same modem, 
 also played havoc.
 
 I had thought it was the serial I/O cable, but that fixed the 
 slow upload speeds but not the bad connects.
