BS> Speaking of bears...
BS> Hunter killed by bear in Wrangell-St. Elias
BS> Brown bear breaks into Alaska Zoo, kills alpaca named Caesar
I read about those events. CBC North often reports on news from
both Alaska and Greenland, sometimes even Siberia, as well as the
Canadian North
Alpacas are reported to be tasty.
BS> Here's another thing I'm careful with ... Bay Leaf ... the
BS> California version is overpowering. Reminds me of eucalytus.
Or acetone. I find one or two leaves simmered in a savory liquid and
then removed is just fine but it's easy to overdose on the powdered
version that gets dumped in and stays in a dish.
BS> Spotted a Ptarmigan standing right in the middle of my lane,
BS> there was oncoming traffic. The bird decided it's best
BS> strategy was to be very, very still and I wouldn't see it.
BS> Which was partially true. I didn't see it after the hood went
BS> over it until it came out from behind the rear bumper. No
BS> place for me to go, but the next one was safe since I could
BS> actually move over and go by it as it did a replay of the first
BS> ones action.
Ptarmachickens are the morons of the bird world. We've killed more
than one here that way.
