I have been working hours on an important letter. Some how Word opened a
second window with the same file and updated both as I typed. I assume this
was a bug or fluke. When I went to close LETTER.DOC:2 without saving, it
close both :1 and :2 at the same time. I had run on great brainstorms and
was busily jotting them down for about 20 minutes or so with out saving. At
first when both versions of the doc closed at the same time without saving I
started to panic but was relieved when I rememered that it was set up to save
automatically every few minutes. But when I went to reopen the doc, none of
the changes had been saved, even though Word was acting like it was saving
all that time. What is the scoop here, how do I restore it? Did it save to
a temp file or a hidden file instead? If so how do I restore it. Whay does
it say it's saving it when it is not?
