      1 tb Honey or white sugar
    3/4 ts Salt
    3/4 c  Whole wheat flour
      2 c  Bread flour
      1 ts Vital gluten, optional
  1 1/2 ts Active dry yeast
      6 dr Red food coloring, at beep*
    1/2 c  Dried strawberries,
           Raspberries or cherries, at
           Beep*

  1 1/8 c  Water
      1 tb Vegetable oil
      2 tb Honey or white sugar
      1 ts Salt
    3/4 c  Whole wheat flour

  *Or five minutes before the end of the kneading phase, or work into
  dough.
  Red-berry flavored bagels are one way to win anyones heart. Use dried
  strawberries, raspberries or cherries. Work a few drops of red food
  coloring into the dough before you shape it to add a soft pink
  marbleized color. Put 1/3 cup red heart candies in your food
  processor, chop coarsley and sprinkle on for topping.
