RV> Do I understand you right, it will make DOS, Windows 16 RV> and 32 bit, AND OS/2 programs?? Yes. Watcom can be hosted on several different platforms, including Windows and OS/2, and can make any supported target from any supported platform. The list of available targets includes DOS real-mode, DOS extended-mode (using the included and royalty-free DOS4/GW extender), Windows 16-bit, Windows 32-bit (including Win32s), OS/2 16-bit, OS/2 32-bit, NetWare NLM, and Autocad ADS. Watcom does include some tools that will limit you by platform. For example, if you write to Microsoft Foundation Classes (included with the compiler), you can only compile targets for Windows. Obviously, if you write to the Windows API, the program will only work on Windows. The compiler itself, however, is platform independent. -- Mike ---* Origin: N1BEE BBS +1 401 944 8498 V.34/V.FC/V.32bis/HST16.8 (1:323/107) SEEN-BY: 50/99 78/0 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 323/107 170/400 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
