Hi, Mike! Recently you wrote in a message to Ardith Hinton:

Agreed. I guess it's not surprising, considering the number of
people we see rushing around with a cell phone in one hand & a coffee
cup in the other. But I'm human, and I'd like somebody to pay attention to
me.... :-))

Yeah... I experienced that as a teacher. Many parents seem to
believe every kid on the planet is exactly like theirs. As a parent,
however, I've also had similar reactions from teachers... if they know one
kid with a mental and/or physical handicap, they know them all. Seems to
me the concept of special needs is that what works for Person A may not
necessarily work for Person B... (sigh).

Uh-huh. Okay, here's a Mommy Brag... Nora has finally summoned
up the courage to back into those "built-to-mininum-standards"
wheelchair stalls. This accomplishment is roughly equivalent to winning
the Governor General's Medal, as far as Dallas & I are concerned. We
think Nora is an awesome kid too. But it's not the sort of stuff other
folks brag about in their Christmas letters.... :-)
