The deliberate act of God to make something appear as something
which it is not is as unacceptable to me as to you.  You overlook
another possibility.  It isn't nature nor God that is in error
but man.  I'm not sure of which dating method was used to date
blue-green algae (rather rocks) at 3+ billion years.  But, I
would want evidence that the scientist is using the method in
a reliable manner.
