That is simply not true. I see regularly on the educational Internet
newsgroups, requests by teachers and tech administrators for advice on
configuring labs, advice on hardware purchase decisions, and advice on
access policies.
On the AP Computer Science mailing list which I participate in, there
are a NUMBER of schools that apparently have an extremely broad computer
program, teaching not only programming and computer applications, but
also media design, and networking.
