When flying east to west and routing through San 
Fran, the approach into SFO is over the amusingly 
multicolored patchwork of the Cargill salt pans; 
these are gradually being restored to the wild 
state, and where the company is going to get its 
Diamond salt from I don't know. Certainly not

The Louisiana salt domes were once considered an
ideal place for the storage of nuclear waste. That
all perhaps depends on whether people can avoid
puncturing them. What fun that would be.

Clarified milk punch

servings: about 60

8 qt hot milk
4 qt brandy
5 qt water
8 lemons
2 lb sugar

Combine these ingredients and let the mixture sit 1 hr. 
Strain through a flannel bag. Store in sealed bottles.
No refrigeration necessary.
