RW> DB> BTW, how's it going with your property taxes?
RW> If I told you you'd scream. I just called the assessor's office
RW> and its $1.93. I'm fairly sure that is per thousand so if my
RW> property was worth $100,000 (I wish) I'd pay $193 a year in
RW> property tax. Our car tags are $23 a year. Oh yeah, there's no
RW> state income tax either but our sales tax is 8.5%.
WHEW!
I'm not sure what the tax is around here but I know it is a bit higher
(per) than that. Judy's car tags are around $250, my bike
registration is around $65... California State Tax runs around $300 a
year for me. I think most people in Los Angeles pay around $1,400 for
their property tax, but I'm not sure. The city also tacks-on
"services" and other stuff. The landowners haven't any rights except
to vote regarding local and zoning issues and their property can be
taken at the drop of a hat (not often, but happens) by an easement for
just about anything.
