Ok, thanks to Brenton I now know the modem is working.
I'm still getting all 0's for the stats!  BTW, back in the
good old days I used to have a MINPDOS.ZIP and a MINPDOS2.ZIP,
which contained a FD/Fmail/Golded setup and a 
Binkley/Squish/Msged config respectively for DOS.  I have 
managed to clobber the first with the second.  Does anyone
have a copy of the other?  Thanks + bye.  Paul.
