-> well thank GOD that we've got a good avaian vet here in CT and she
-> was able to save her feet after some treatments, I came across her
-> after a fire in the old lady's house and since no one in her family
-> wanted to take care of such a large bird and I already owned a Blue
-> Fronted Amazon and a Timnah African Grey along with a few budgies, I
-> volinteered to see what I could do with this humungus bird!

-> I took her to the vets, got her nails cut and the sores on her toes
-> taken care of, brought her home and put her in her cage along side
-> of Amy [ my Amazon ] and Amy who's pretty sociable sez "Hello" to
-> Mrs MaGoo the new name for the MaCaw [ I don't know her original
-> name since her owner had died in the fire ] and the family cared
-> less about the poor bird. It took about a month for her to become
-> sociable enough to where she wouldn't do a typical MaCaw SCREAM when
-> ever some one paid any attention to her.
-> One morning [ just last week ] when I took off the night time covers
-> from Amy,Smokey and BJ [ the budgie ] Amy said her usual "Good
-> Morning, Girls" and after I took Mrs MaGoo's cover off she said
-> "Good Morning!!" Guess she learned from the others!

-> I can now say that Mrs MaGoo is part of "our" Birds family and she's
-> becomming more and more sweet every day, even to a point where she
-> wants to have her belly scratched by my daughter!

Well I am glad Mrs. Magoo Has somebody to love and care for her now... I
can't believe someone could mistreat such a dear Creature... The poor
bird didn't ask to be put in a cage in the first place,People could at
least give them some respect... My Blue and Gold and my Blue-Front had
been in their cages for over a year when we got them... You should have
seen them when they realized they could come out... The Blue and Gold
stretched its wings for 2 hours strait....
Well it has been nice talking to you and look forward to doing so more
often!
