Apparently they are a clan of Irish decendants who are centered in the 
Deep South. I think it is Georgia, but I'm not certain. The clan 
derives its currency by multiple scams and dishonesty such as "paint 
jobs" where all the elderly befuddled homeowner only "pays for the 
paint," or other "home repair" type of deals. They're not gypsies as 
they have a secret inbred society (with bizarre customs) which doesn't 
allow outsiders, in.
