Although I don't agree with this example. It must become
if x=12 then
begin
if y=23 then
writeln();
end else
writeln();
like written in the Pascal User Manual and Report by Jensen and Wirth (2nd
edition) page 151.

That's the same as you and people with other GUI's: I can't believe people
love using the windows GUI while they won't ever look at my os/2 cq unix
screen ;-)
