  But what is a car supposed to be used for?  Transportation of people and 
goods.  What is a Doctor V64 used for?  They may claim that it's for 
developers, but the company is probably fully aware as to what people will 
REALLY use it for.  Most people don't smuggle contraband with their cars, but 
most Doctor V64 users are likely pirating software.

  But why not at least TRY to curtail it?  Companies like Nintendo and Sega 
really WOULD like to stay in business, you know!
  Consider guns, for instance.  If we took the "if always happens, why 
bother" tactic, then we might as well let anyone who wants a gun buy one, 
regardless of its firepower or intended use.
