That's so preposterous that it might actually be true! What
about if you leave the ~~~ in but take away the ATH0?

Maybe I should post a message in USR_MODEMS and ask them to do
a line trace with your modem and see who is violating protocol,
or who's line is bad? ROFL! I wonder how long it will take
before Rod decides that USRs are a heap of shit after all? He's
the only one getting 50% failed calls, at least all Frank has
to do is drink lots of coffee.
Funny thing is, I used to connect to Dave Hatch's USR with my
Spirit Thunder fine. Hey Frank, can you try FREQing something
off Poe Lim's board, or just dialling him, getting the logon
screen, and then hanging up? I just want to know what rate
you connect at.
Hey Rod, your modem is a heap of shit. NO-ONE else is having
problems with retrains, we have PLENTY of evidence that our
phone lines are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, tested by Australia's best
techos. Now that the ONLY weak link in the chain, the Spirit,
is out of the picture, it can only be your dud Supra. Your
dud Supra has a record of warts, like double sends, etc etc.
Stuffed retrain code is just another one.
BFN. Paul.
