If you wish to get really adventurous, you could try playing with some of the 
startup timeout values in the IBMLAN.INI file, however please note that this 
can provide some interesting and quite unexpected results.....;-) The default 
startup settings have been selected to try and keep things under control in a 
large environment, however if you only have a small LAN with no NETBIOS over 
TCP/IP segments that you need to connect to, then you may be able to reduce 
some of the timings without introducing any problems, but this area of tuning 
the LAN environment can get quite complex and is not terribly well
