BA>>One hindrance - that was discussed in POLITICS many years ago - is
BA>>the fact that the smell of baking bread is considered by some to be
BA>>air pollution. I thought that was ridiculous, but it was pointed out
BA>>by an individual who worked in the (Illinois) state government at the
BA>>time that the substances released into the atmosphere from commercial
BA>>bakeries were in fact pollutants.

BA>>I suppose that some would also consider any dust emitted from a grain
BA>>mill during the production of flour would also be pollution.

JB> Agreed. I was pointing out one possibility. To your
JB> point, there are so many selfish self-righteous people in
JB> this country that exude the not in my backyard attitude.
JB> It is truly unfortunate to see how selfish the liberal
 JB> agenda is, when enacted.

What is truly selfish and self righteous is the right wing
attitude that any concern for health matter against profit is
 evil.

Read what he said again. Substance released from commercial
bakeries. That could imply substances other than just the smell
 of baking bread.

And some people are highly alergic to wheat, perhaps even to the
extent of a small amoung of airborn particulates. I have read
 it's true of peanuts.

Dust released from a grain mill may well trigger alergies.

JB> I personally love the smell of a
JB> bakery. There's one here in Columbus that you can smell
JB> from the freeway. I used to love driving by it in the
JB> morning on my way to work. It was a heavenly smell.

I used to drive by a Dole Pineapple cannery on my way to work.
Smelled like Pineapple Upside Down cake. And I love Pineapple
 Upside Down cake.
