BG> What, you agree that it's mad, or you agree with the ban on BG> them? BL> I agree with banning pump-action shotguns. BG> Why? They're not self-loading weapons, and take just as long to BG> chamber a fresh round as a bolt-action rifle does. Banning BG> those is fucking mad. Let me ask you why the USA went from 5-round magazines to 3? BG> In the US, it was a combination safety thing, and also designed BG> to give game animals a bit of a chance. I felt sure that we BG> followed suit, but could be wrong, as I only read about these BG> things in papers and magazines. ROFL!!! Give the game a chance? What about us people? BL> I am sorry you feel so insecure. BG> So would you, if your neighbour had been murdered by someone BG> who's still at large, and if you had complete fuckwits driving BG> around firing high-powered rifles half the night. Logan is the BG> juvenile crime capital of Australia. Actually, I wouldn't find Logan that insecure. I grew up in Newtown. We had a murder, several rapes, a suicide (very messy, he cut his throat) burglaries galore and wife-bashings every day of the week, not to mention drunk and disorderly as a way of life. When I moved out, I found it strangely silent at night without the screams. BG> As far as I'm concerned, it is my basic human right to be able BG> to protect myself and my family from predators, and if I need a BG> gun for that, so be it. BL> Predators are a real worry... I suppose you mean that alien who BL> nearly got Arnold Swartzenegger. It was lucky he had an SLR. BG> Very droll. I liked it too. I rewrote it several times to get it just right. BG> And if I remember rightly, it was actually a nuclear explosion BG> which finally despatched the Predator in the movie of the same BG> name anyway. Serves him right for going nuclear. He should have stuck to his SLR, or his self-loading claw, anyway. Regards, Bob ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 @EOT: ---* Origin: Precision Nonsense, Sydney (3:711/934.12) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
