I like Earl Croasmans idea, in fact I will adopt it over for CROSSFIRE,
like I told you privately there will be positive changes for that echo that

I contribute far more to Fidonet, and monetarily, than you know.

I have 2 websites dedicated to recruiting new sysops and assisting current
ones, you arent paying my registrar and hosting fees. I have helped get 30
sysops listed in the past year and provided nearly twice that many with a
feed, not to mention my Fidonet Via Newsreader service.

I expect nothing in return, for it is sysops that make up and run Fidonet,
not you, you just avail yourself of freely given services. How much
recognition do you give Shannon Talley for the effort he puts into
providing you a system to use?

What about Ed Koon, his dedication, hell he is going to goto New York to
assist a extremely sick friend and he is taking his BBS machine with him
and run it from up there.

Fidonets decline, for lack of a better word, is for the same reason why you
no longer see a wide selection of dial-up BBS's in every area, like we once
had in the 80's and 90's... I ran a dial-up BBS well before I knew about
Fidonet and I was the last one in my area to take my system down for
dial-up BBS purposes.

Its the Internet!!!!!

Go look around your memory, as Internet Access either through dial-up
services and then broadband became more prevelant, Fidonet became less
relevant.
