Hi again, James! This is a continuation of my previous message:

JB> In the business world, I found those who seemed to
JB> enjoy belittling others tend to stagnate in their
JB> careers. Those who tend to high-falute, usually
JB> shoot them self in the foot. My position was usually
JB> to stand aside, and let them get their just deserve.

           Makes sense to me.... :-)

JB> Why you always ask the tough questions...

That's my preferred learning style. I'm not a good memorizer,
and I find it difficult to fit my own answers into little boxes... so I
like the kind of question which has a number of possible answers, some
better than others. I think you can relate because you seem to be
interested in music which gives the performer(s) an opportunity to
experiment with various interpretations.... ;-)

JB> Do I have a case of the "Should-a/Could-a/Would-a"?
JB> You bet! Now that I am here, all I can do is go
JB> forward with what I have. I often tell people who
JB> deserve a little more conversation than a tele-
JB> marketer, "Doin' what I can with what I've got."
JB> What else *can* you do?

Uh-huh. I think most people are struggling toward the light, in
one way or another. If you can express such doubts I can see you're human
& you're not afraid to admit it. That gives me the freedom to be human
as well.... :-)

JB> (I know, the grammer needs some work. )

Since you asked, I would say it's usually appropriate to the
context from what I've seen so far. Your spelling of the word
"grammar" needs a bit of work. If you're worried about details
like that, however, you probably haven't noticed the stuff I cringe over
after *my* messages have scanned out.... :-)))

JB> Mom was a teacher too, so as long as you don't take
JB>  your work home with you, we should get along fine. <-;

And as long as you don't confuse me with your mother (or your
sister or your ex-wife or Miss Grinch in grade three, as many people do) I
think we'll probably get along fine! I bring some insights I've gained
from working in the classroom to what I say here. But I'm temperamentally
disinclined to "correct" everything, and I learned long ago that
it's not necessary anyway... [chuckle].

JB> At times, I realize mom gave me the best education on
JB> the planet, and other times, I just wished she'd take
JB> the psycho-babble back to where she learned it.

Ah... you recognize that there may be both good *and* bad in
people, as well as in relationships! It's a common theme in literature. I
often tried
... with limited success... to get the idea across to my students. Even
adults have difficulty with it. Now, if only I'd had more students like
you.... :-))

JB> Sure, it wasn't the Cleavers' house I grew up in, but
JB> it was FAR from the worst situation.

Yes, I think my parents did the best they could with the
knowledge & resources available to them. I may grumble from time to
time... but I wouldn't trade my parents for any of the others I saw around
me when I was a child. :-)

JB> It's just like them to be full of their own notions
JB> though. I guess that can be true for most of us.

AH> Probably.... :-)

JB> Go with what you know!

With the proviso that knowledge is expandable, yes.... ;-)
