Patrick, Hello!
  I have (2) Supra FAX Modems, both external models.  One is a 28.8k, the 
other is a 33.6k.  Both modems are flashed with Supra Flash ROM 1.440-26  and 
both use the same INIT strings...  I also run a multiline BBS.
  My problem is that I have a User with a 33.6k Motorola BitSurfer modem.  
When he calls and connects with the slower 28.8k modem he has no problems 
whatsoever.  When he connects with the faster 33.6k modem, he has problems 
downloading files :(  Regardless of his initial connect speed, the throughput 
on his downloads spiral down to nothing very quickly.  He is forced to 
download the same file several times before he can get all of it :(  He 
doesn't have any problem connecting, staying connected or uploading...
  Any suggestion as to what I might change on my end to be more compatible 
with his modem, or what I might suggest he do to his modem to be more 
compatible with mine?
