-=>I distinctly overheard Eric Petran say to Terry Barker<=-
Eric,
EP> I am fifteen. I currently do not have a job because I am still in
EP> school. I am looking for a summer job though. Eric Petran
You might try some of the small business. My sister owns her own
carpet-cleaning company, and is always looking for more helpers,
for different jobs and hours. Ask around your teachers, neighbors,
etc. to see who knows of or has a small business you could help in.
Some of the jobs may be really hard work, but you'll be learning a
lot of things while working. Don't just settle for flipping burgers
when you turn 16. Maybe some plant nurseries need young people,
just to do extra help. Oh, my son, at 15, helped a friend of our
family who had a floral shop. He filled hundreds of those little
water tubes, plus actually making arrangements to be sold. (I got
a dozen long-stemmed roses from him! :) ) There is work out there
to be done, but you have to find it and be willing to work hard.
Also, ask your guidance counselor at school for job openings they
may know of. Mine helped me get a couple of jobs when I was in
school!
Good luck in your search. Let us know how it turns out.
take care,
Wanda
