JF> No network code improvements? Hmm. Well, could you guys at least

PM> 28.8 Sportsters are *notorious* for being picky about init strings.
PM> That's why those sysops who can afford it often buy the much more

PM> to a tree all night long if that's what it takes to make a connection."
PM> Most comments I've seen on Sportsters are unprintable in a family
PM> echo.
PM> That's not to say they're bad. Just very, very picky.
PM> I've had cases where two 28.8 Sportsters wouldn't talk to each other,

That would be all nice & good, if it seemed worthwhile enough to trade in
my modem for another. But seeing as how I may be getting cable modem access
to the Internet, it may not matter much.
As I understand it, a Sportster is (quite obviously) not the best for
head-to-head, modem gaming. But it's great for Internet play, since most
ISPs tend to have Sporsters (including X2 Sportsters now), and Sportsters are
great when they work at top speed.
PM> You're in Canada. Apogee is in Texas (assuming that's also the
hipping
PM> point), so I'd guess maybe a week or so by surface mail or UPS.
PM> Customs -and I've dealt with Canadian Customs before- can REALLY slow
PM> things down to a crawl, as can the US side at times. :(
Through regular mail, sure. But I think 3D Realms and id both give you 2-3
day delivery, so it may be as little as 3 days in transit.
