Replying to a message of Ross Cassell to Bob Ackley: RC> Hello Bob! The only 'defending' Klahn - and I - have been doing for Sauer is pointing out that most of those who criticize him for those 65 days of service have never served a single minute in the military. When I was just out of basic training back in 1963 and awaiting assignment I was detailed to escort a fellow from the stockade to the legal office and back. Seems the guy had, on day 1 of his AF career, decked the TI (who IMO probably deserved it). He was court-martialled, sentenced to 30 days in the stockade and a DD. His 12 or so *hours* of honorable service (from the time he took the oath to the time he decked the TI) is more than you and many of Sauer's detractors have - combined. You and most of the others have no standing to trash the service of anyone who did serve, even if they only served 12 hours. Insofar as 'working on A-10s' I've noted in the past that if he washed the cockpit plexiglas he 'worked on' the aircraft. I've never seen him claim to be a qualified, experienced aircraft mechanic, and I don't think I've supported much of anything else he has posted on the military (mostly I haven't commented). --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 SEEN-BY: 261/100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 SEEN-BY: 633/267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
