Hi John,

Once again, you are right on the money with your response to the
flaming on the soon to be concluded "discussion" here of car audio here.
Because I took some shots at the "trunkflappers" and about the social
problems that these folks cause to others, the car audio crowd took at
as blanket condemnation of all car stereo. My opinion that car stereo
(for me) js a waste of what can be otherwise good electronics was also
taken as a blanket condemnation of the entire industry, as well as my
scoffing the competitions goals and lack of industries concerns for
causing and encouraging dangerously loud sound levels to be acceptable
behaviour. This is irresponsible to the extreme. If second hand smoke
can be the basis of a lawsuit, what about second hand SPL that causes
hearing damage to a passenger or a passerby. Sorry, I couldn't resist a
few shots at that industry.
JA> No viable debate has been offered, nor intelligent exception taken

Exactly the reasons for forcing the issue with letters to RECs, the
moderator of CAR_AUDIO, etc to assist getting it Elisted to stop this
damage to the quality of the echo which was sent before seeing your well
considered and reasoned letter that this is a response to. As of Sept 1,
1996 maybe we can get this echo back on track as you put it:
JA> There was a time when no matter what your technical question about
JA> Audio, there were any number of people that would respond in short
JA> order with detailed assistance and discussion. Threads ran for
JA> weeks and were polite and informative. The worst you read was one
JA> giving another the needle about some theory or particular piece of
JA> equipment. We would go months without Bonnie having to say a word
JA> as moderator...to anyone.
I miss that, too. Hopefully we can return to that ideal above in the
near future. I get tired of signing my name as it is below:
JA> If you absolutely need to blame someone for the changes, your
welcome
JA> to target me. But in the end I truly believe both groups will be
JA> happier.
OK, John, you're the scape goat. It's YOUR fault!!!
