Hello Roy -

RJT> I talked to a guy the other day who got two P120 systems,
RJT> one AT, one ATX, w/ 2 and 3G drives, 98 and w2k, for
RJT> around $25-30 each.

I think that is a fair price but not for W98 or W2K. I would
consider 200mhz to be the minimum for either W98 or W2K with
W2K being a bit 'iffy' at 200mhz. I have a 233mhz with 128meg
of memory and W2K installed and it's noticeably sluggish (9meg
of hard drive). OTOH I've used W98 on 200mhz machines with only
64meg and W98 seemed quite content to hum right along with that
combination.

My W2K installs are in the 1.5gig range but that includes what
I consider necessary third party apps. I think I could see it
at 1gig or so and a bit less for W98? The hard drives would be
a bit cramped for any large file manipulation but it could be
done if you had a CD burner to remove finished work ASAP. :-)

A tweaked W95 at 120mhz would probably be more satisfying to
use.

Nothing I say is intended to be an absolute unless I
specifically say that I believe it to be absolutely true at all
times. I need a disclaimer to patch in at the bottom of my
messages or I get a bunch of "No, you're wrong" replies. :-\
