BL> I am sorry you feel so insecure. BG> So would you, if your neighbour had been murdered by someone BG> who's still at large, and if you had complete fuckwits BG> driving around firing high-powered rifles half the night. That sort of thing has been going on for a long time. BG> Logan is the juvenile crime capital of Australia. Depends on what you call crime tho. Its not true of say murder. Some of the coon settlements have fucking unbelievable murder rates, actually worse than the worst of the Washington DC drug ghettos. BL> Actually, I wouldn't find Logan that insecure. BG> Oh really? Try walking your dog around here then. Go on. :) Probably safer than say Redfern. BL> I grew up in Newtown. BG> The violence of 40 years ago is nothing like the violence of today. Thats not true actually, the murder rate has been STATIC for well over fifty years, in fact if anything its dropped a little. And a bit before that, even before the senile old fart of Concords time, if thats actually possible, Sydney was quite a bit worse than it is now. Razor gangs and all. You want to read Chow Hayes memoirs, a small time thug of that era. He actually shot a fellow dead on the dance floor would you believe, and got off on the charge too, on self defense grounds. BL> We had a murder, several rapes, a suicide (very messy, he cut BL> his throat) burglaries galore and wife-bashings every day of BL> the week, not to mention drunk and disorderly as a way of life. Yeah, that stuffs been going on for a very long time. You dont see anything like the level of the old blood pubs either now. BG> Welcome to Logan. You'll be right at home here, I promise you. Sure, but you said he would feel insecure there. He is saying he wouldnt. There are plenty of people who dont, even in the areas where the corpses keep piling up. Corse he also has no basis for saying you aint entitled to shoot someone trying to invade you house either. He's just doing the usual mindless Laurentian coat trailing, doesnt believe a word of what he is saying about guns. Rather pathetic really. BG> As far as I'm concerned, it is my basic human right BG> to be able to protect myself and my family from BG> predators, and if I need a gun for that, so be it. Yeah, I think we should have the system seen in some US states where no burglar has any rights at all inside your house, whether thats breaking a leg tripping over something or ending up with bullet holes. I dont see why say a woman alone in the house at night should have to try to get the burglar to bugger off in some other way, far too much risk of getting it wrong and ending up severely injured or dead. If the burglars dont like the risk, they are welcome to not burgle. Its been interesting to watch your QLD polly clowns go to water on that self defense stuff after Port Arfur. I'm not surprised to see complete fuckwits like Goss go to water, even after saying the exact opposite in the last election, but you would think that UberLeutnant Cooper might have had more balls. Specially with Liz Cunningham having the balls. Borbidge clearly is just a total fuckwit, no policy, dog shit between the ears. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
