Hi Dia...its been a long time.....I too have my birds outside and have
done so for many years now.  The little nasty critters you refer to have
had free access to my aviary and occasionally I will seen more than I
like to see in there.  What I usually do is to spray the exterior areas
away from the birds and also ensure that I don't have any standing water
anywhere near the birds.  I keep the entire area quite clean and use
seven dust liberally.  Whether it is what I do or not, I have never
experienced any problems related to mosquitoes.  As for the bug zappers,
although I have never used them myself, I have friends that swear by
them.  If it flies, it gets zapped, so they say...
