| subject: | Hardware MB question |
On 09 Jan 05 15:13:56, Greg Goodwin got back to Dan Ceppa -> Re: Hardware MB question GG> A Tandy 1000SX eh? You know just before the Tandy went into the IBM GG> PC clone business I was all about Tandy. . Got a Co-Co III computer GG> over here, was a Model 100 user for years, and used a model 1,2,3 and GG> 4p in school. Amazing! And we had a 1100 I think.. a portable IBM XT GG> clone with a 20 meg hard drive. Something like that. . Unfortunately for Tandy, they weren't true clones. Upgrading required purchasing most peripherals only fron Tandy. From my experience, what they did was hard wire in jumpers, etc so that they only could work with a Tandy system. Then they charged 3x or more the going rate for comparable clone merchandise. --- OMX/Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: Soundly on the Fault Line (1:123/666.0) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/666 500 106/2000 633/267 |
