Hopefully not. I have set off metal detectors with the metal in my elbow
& wrists but they'd been set more sensitive right after 9/11.

ML> That being my point and why I am not wholly against
ML> your suggestion to postpone the picnic.
Dale is in favor of cancelling it also, haven't heard from Nancy.

ML> You can do all of the above. Our level of freedom
ML> in this regard is still substantially greater than
ML> that of many countries.
Which, in turn, may be contributing to a slow spread to some areas.

ML> You could probably get the hookups while adhering
ML> to local distancing rules.
Depends on where we hook up but we can go out in the boonies and be self
contained.

ML> I can speak only to a few states, Massacnusetts
ML> and New York among them, which are internally
ML> inconsistent. The phenomenon you describe further
ML> compounds the problem.
True, like our governor cutting off alcohol sales in restaurants after
11 pm but still permitting them in grocery stores. Orange County cuts
the sales after 10 pm.

ML> I've not heard any huge chorus of "I just can't
ML> survive without one" and have made (changeable)
ML> reservatioms to be somewhere else.
I'd advise you go with your alternate plans but see what Nancy says.
Last I knew, she was debating moving the picnic back to the last week
end in Sept. but that probably still wouldn't affect various state
quarantine and travel restrictions.

ML> Especially newborns.
They have some immunity initially from their mothers but not a lot and
it doesn't last long.

ML> I'm in favor of permanent cancellation of the
ML> Olympics, as they have become something quite
ML> contrary and incompatible with the original
ML> ideal of friendly competition that transcends
ML> national boundaries and prejudices.
Quite so!
ML> > ML> Ah, well. I'd hoped that some clever workaround had been

ML> Your state has quite a few attractions and
ML> natural features. Be thankful you don't live
ML> in Nebraska or someplace like that.
I'm sure there are attractions in NE but they don't have both the ocean
and mountains in the same state. (G)

Another interesting thought.
