I'm guessing that you did leave the modem speaker on and can
hear the other end responding? You might try telent'g using
Hyperterminal PE and see if the other modem is actually there?
If it worked and doesn't work now I would suspect that the
modem init string somehow got switched to the wrong modem type
in the Windows DUN? I think that happened to me more than once.
I have also been trying to get my setup fixed at the same time
my ISP was attempting to change their setup. I got totally
confused and almost deleted and replaced everything until I
called and they said "Yes, we've been having problems the past
two weeks." I was ticked!!!
