Replying to a message from Ardith Hinton 1:153/716 to Gord Hannah,

About Update of sorts, On Fri Mar 18 2005

GH> Those that know what is happening in our neck of the
GH> woods, here is a bit of an update:

AH> Sounds as if you've been having quite a time of it
AH> lately.... :-/

Sort of,we are looking after an apartment block, and needed to clean house
literally we had some real noisy and ignorant people living in the
building, now it is reasonably quiet.

GH> Grandson is doing fine, we have noticed though that
GH> his memory or the retention is not there he needs
GH> lots of help on his acedemic studies. He turns bright
GH> red for no apparent reason, complains of headaches
GH> daily, has developed skin flaps (bit of skin hanging
GH> from his cheeks and chin.

AH> Hmm. Side effects from chemo and/or radiation, maybe? It

Our thoughts or it might be genetic, his father is not the brightest light
bulb in the package. We think the result of the chemo and the 38 minutes
of total body irradiation.

AH> strikes me that he must be in grade seven or eight by now... meaning

Nope grade 5.

AH> dumb question, I am tempted to ask whether his vision & hearing have
AH> been checked regularly. When I was doing learning assistance that
AH> was the first question I asked. It turned out to be significant in
AH> many cases.... :-)

His hearing is fine, vision seems to be ok even with columboma, his pupils
are the shape of old skeleton key holes. He does wear glasses though.

GH> Dad, has survived prostate cancer, so far, colorectal,
GH> so far, but his latest battle is liver/lung so far so
GH> good.

AH> Tell your Dad we're rooting for him...

We all are, to top it off my step mother has alzheimers and is now pretty
much house bound, can't remember anything that happened yesterday but the
sins dad and I did 20 years ago look out nelly.

GH> Cousin just had a heart transplant.

AH> And the same goes for your cousin. :-)

The sad part here is that some one had to die so she could get a new heart.

AH> have the same basis for comparison. While I am pleased to hear it,
AH> however, I can't say I'm surprised. It's more like "Thank goodness,
AH> somebody understands".... :-))

And Nora is a fighter.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

We are a fine board trying to make it better.
