Thanks for the tips. I was hoping to not blot the sponge on spare newspaper 
or such.... kinda cheap and don't want waste the paint. :-)
I've seen the final results both ways. Dark background with a light sponged 
color and reversed. Both are unique. I will do a bit experimenting with a 
small
piece of sponge and some folk art paints I have on a spare piece of wood. 
Just to get a "feel" for it.
