KN> The Dregs reformed for a live album back in 1992, _Bring
KN> 'Em Back Alive_ which is excellent.
IS> i think they have a studio album "full circle" at 94,
KN>
KN> Have you heard this album? Is it any good?
i have it, and dont like it as much as older stuff, seems without
orientation.
IS> btw i listened to "No Problem at all" by "Soh Band" it is excellent
IS> zeuhl meets John Zorn meets some Zappa
KN>
KN> I recently listened to the Naked City album by Zorn with
KN> Bill Friesell on guitar and Fred Frith on bass. Frith can
i was just about to get this from someone via Internet, but
he had sold it to somebody else. in the futur, i'll find
it. when he listed me the members, i was thinking bill frisell
would be bass guitarist , and fred frith would be guitarist.
i think i thought it was bil laswell. btw Bill Frisell has
come to turkey, and i have not gone seeing him, cause i'm
not much interested in jazz (i had also not gone seeing RUINS,
which i regret now)
KN> now play bass like a bass player instead of like a
KN> guitarist but it's kind of a waste since he's a much
KN> better guitarist than Frisell, IMO. Still, it's an
KN> interesting album, well played. Perhaps a bit too clever
KN> in a New York soho loft kind of way. I'm not sure I like
KN> it, though I recognise it's well made.
IS> kind of mr. bungle but horns are much dominant.
KN>
KN> That sounds really interesting. Soh Band, huh?
i think their guitarist masuda played with john zorn, should be
a naked city member. very free music, some people said, they
sound like II Inferno's first album which i'll also check.
IS> i also listened boud deun about which i only heard positive reviews.
IS> they are very weak, boring
KN>
KN> THat's what I'm starting to hear from people, very mixed
KN> reviews.
KN>
KN> Then again I expected to hate the last Echolyn album
KN> since all of the reviews were bad and I found I enjoyed
KN> it. Guess I'll have to check them out for myself.
people say boud deun has stravinskian overtones, which i cant hear.
i listened the first hoyry kone album, its phenomenal music, on the king
crimson magma axis. i had 4 x-legged sally albums, a belgian band playing
funky fusion kind of Zappa, they are cool.
mike patton seems to have a new solo album have you listened it?
