ML> the ones who came over here are overwhelmingly in the searching
ML> for freedom and prosperity camp

JW> Filipinos are now Yellowknife's largest visible minority.

ML> The food is rather like Cantonese food

I believe I have mentioned in the past that Neekha's best friend in
elementary school here in Yellowknife was a half Filipina, half
Inuit girl. We still stay in touch with that girl, who of course is
now a young lady, and her family.

But I don't think I mentioned that her man, Patrick, is half Filipino
and half New Brunswick Acadian. An yeah, his last name is LeBlanc.
How basic!

JW> I've only had crayfish once and they were delicious. But they
JW> were either Chinese or Thai in origin so I didn't want to make
 JW> them a regular thing.

ML> that leads one to the suspicions such
ML> as Dale has about farmed shellfish. Which means that though
ML> the tails are most likely fine if cooked thoroughly, it
ML> would be madness to engage in the wonderful Cajun custom
ML> of sucking out the head fat and the liver.

Too late! I did. But I didn't die.

ML> The cube rule, which I learned decades ago, is however
ML> only a rule of thumb, not the mathematical certainty that
ML> people make it out to be.

For organic beings of differing proportions it is merely an
approximation.

 JW> Bonterra ... it's $22 here.

ML> That's ok. My copay will be $250 per eye, and even that
ML> saves me over $2000 per eye over list price.

While mine, should I need that done someday, will be nil. My health
costs so far in life would have been cheaper in the American system
but Roslind and a lot of her relatives and mine would be bankrupt or
dead. When all is said and done I don't bitch (too much) about my
tax load.

JW> virus testing centres are segregated

ML> How long does it take to get results?

An hour.

 ML> there's probably less call.

We have performed 2878 tests to date which works out to 6 per
hundred people, not nearly as heavy a load as Ontario at 15 or the
USA at 17.

 ML> mongolfood.info

An interesting thread.

Cheers

Jim

... I listed three taverns as dependants on my tax return.
