On 10-08-08, BOB ACKLEY said to TIM RICHARDSON: TR> I took basic at Ft Dix, NJ, but I was discharged at Ft Lewis, WA. And TR> it says Ft Lewis, WA on my discharge. BA>At the time of separation I presume you were physically located at Fort BA>Lewis. We arrived from Vietnam on a flight into Seattle\Tacoma, were bussed to Ft Lewis, taken to a mess hall for breakfast (it was around 6 AM), taken to the processing center afterward and discharged. TR> Why would Sauer's discharge be issued at Lackland Air Force TR>Base if he was at Lowry in Colorado? BA>Because the parent unit with the personnel/command function was at BA>Lackland rather than Lowry. BA>Hundreds, probably thousands, of AF people were separated at Travis AFB, BA>CA, and at Dover AFB, DE, even though they'd never been stationed there. I had never been stationed at Ft Lewis. BA>These were people who had only a few months remaining on their hitches BA>when their overseas tours were up, and it was cheaper to discharge them on BA>arrival at the port than move them to some stateside base for a couple of BA>months and then discharge them there. They were given a `drop', in other words. I wasn't given a `drop'. In fact, I was a month or more past the end of my hitch. Sauer wouldn't have been past any of his hitch. And Lowry would have been his discharge point, not Lackland, *if* he were actually `at' Lowry. Why would they go to the expense of sending him back to Lackland from Lowry, only to discharge him? Not very likely. We've punched holes in this little story of his for years, now, even shown that there weren't any A-10's there (Lowry) for him to have `worked on' until long after he left the Air Force. I don't know how much more mileage you and your friends are going to be able to get out of it. But its fun watching you stretch and stretch for more `possibilities' of his tale having an ounce of truth in it. Sauer has left you guys twisting in the wind over his little Air Force `career' that unfolded in a grand total of 65 days so many times, I'd have thought you would have seen him as the pathological liar he is, by now, and left him on his own. Are you so desperate for allies that you take anyone in? Even Sauer? Thats pathetic! --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 140/1 226/0 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 SEEN-BY: 261/100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 SEEN-BY: 633/267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
