Hi Michael,

ML> I might want to go give the Insel another shot, but
ML> one gets looted antiquities all through the first world.
I woouldn't mind going back to the city (visit friends) and the country
as a whole (visit relatives). Steve wants to go to Italy some day to see
the area his mom's family came from (toe of the boot region); maybe some
day we'll get over there.

ML> Maybe not credible ones, though.
That would have to be vetted.

ML> I'm pretty sure he was a genius. Also a kook:
ML> that's not that rare a combination. The phrase
ML> Often imitated, never duplicated could have been
ML> written with him in mind (it wasn't really).
Could be written about a lot of people.
ML> > ML> Modern dance leaves me fairly cold.

ML> My sister and I had a subscription to the New York
ML> City ballet up in the 4th ring, where, especially
ML> with my eyesight, everything was kind of abstracted
ML> and nonrepresentational anyway, so I have a leg up
ML> in that department.
More so than I do. The only way Ive seen ballet is on tv.

ML> The question then is why use one in the first place,
ML> when ordinary electric burners can do everything better.
Crock pots use less energy than stoves. Don't know about induction cook
tops (like our one "burner" job) but I've found that it tends to cut off
after a couple of hours of run time.
ML> > ML> Annie in Pennsylvania's father did something like
ML> > ML> that, the details lost to me now.
ML> > How is she doing these days or have you lost contact with her?
ML> I'm in touch with some common friends, and they
ML> haven't heard much from her either; one sent a
ML> Christmas card last season and got a card back
ML> but no note. I suppose that Robbie's transgression
ML> was so fundamental that everyone who even expressed
ML> sympathy with her/him immediately went off the list
ML> - to her it was worse than if (s)he had robbed a bank
ML> or something. To be fair, he/she seems to have also
ML> joined some offshoot of Scientology, which may be
ML> an actual problem.
Sounds like it's a rather convoluted situation.
ML> > ML> National City. I was going to nix that, but Lilli

ML> The doctor seemed okay, but see below.
Will do.

True.
BTW, it looks like we're going to get some wind and rain from the latest
storm. Don't know how much; it's supposed to come up along the I-95
corridor. We're west of that but don't know if we're far enough west to
avoid major damage or not. Will keep you updated.

Catch you later,
