Not guaranteed - I don't have 16550 UARTs (or compatibles); mine are
16450s but they still keep up with 38,400bps (or even 57,600bps) serial
ports and 28,800bps DCE/DCE links. Even under OS/2 and Linux. Under
DOS/Windows though, forget it.
Do your logs show lots of resends from me?
